What is being proposed?

The Megunticook river currently has seven dams, three of which are being considered for removal to mitigate flood risk, restore fish habitat, and minimize maintenance costs. These are the Montgomery Dam, owned by the Town of Camden and the closest to the ocean; and Knox Mill dam, and Knowlton Street Dam, the next two lowest dams which are privately owned. The town has conducted a watershed-wide feasibility study outlining options.
